Hello my name is Dorit and I write this blog.

I have a daughter and a little dog, who is sometimes very exhausting but also very cuddly.

I am currently starting to turn my life around with God's help. A few years ago I had a longing to help people who are lonely and who want to get away from home. Just get out of what's going on and take a breath, relax in God's light, let God's light warm them up. Of course I could not do that, because work and household did not make that possible. Of course we helped when someone needed it, but God showed me that he has something bigger in mind.

Some time passed and I got a picture from God of a kitchen that was well equipped, like in a restaurant. In the middle, a large wooden table that seated a few people.

Again, some time passed. I wanted to do something, but I didn't know how or what. I had then attended a pastoral care course and successfully completed it, only I didn't know what for.

Then I tried to do something, because if I can't work in it yet, I tried to reach others by creating a homepage. You can find it now under lichtstrahl-im-dunkel.eu in a modified form. Somehow it was not to be found in the search engines at that time. Somehow it didn't work and I couldn't do much even on this page. This time it is different and better.

It was and is important to me that people experience how much God loves them and how changed and good a life with God is. And therefore I had tried to do something.

Do something. What is it like when someone tells you: quit your job. I couldn't do much with it at first. I didn't want to, because our family had to live on something. Quit my job, I put it aside and it kept coming up. God showed it to me again and again. I did not know how it would go on and so I did not change anything in my life.

But my life began to change through some things. My friend trusted in God and quit her apartment without having another apartment. This showed me that I can also go other ways with God. Just trust him that he has something good planned for me and that he will give me something better. So I quit my job and slowly try to get there what God has in mind for me.

I would like to invite women to my home to spend time together, also time with God. To eat something together and also to talk about problems and ask God for advice. I also invite you, you are welcome to come to the meal (only for women). Together in prayer we give God our worries and problems and see if he has something for us. Yes, almost like counseling. Now I knew why I had attended the counseling course. Sometimes you only understand later what something is good for. I have often experienced that I only saw afterwards how good God meant it with me. But I will come to that sometime later in this blog.

My vision is a house where people can come and find peace. With time for worship and fellowship with God and also fellowship with people. A time to experience intensively with God. To get out of the daily routine and to get to know God better. That you can praise and glorify God together and think about his word together or take time to think about God's word yourself.

How often does this get lost in our everyday life. How often do we not take this time. There is so much that distracts us from it. That's why I want to give people this space and also offer conversations.

I wish you the strength from God that you need to live your everyday life with him and to see his miracles and to remember them again and again.

Some days I didn't feel so well, because fear came up inside me: What will happen next? How are we going to live? How will such a house be paid for? I always had to take the time to give all this to God and to believe Him that it would not remain just a vision. I knelt down before God and told him how I felt and that I was afraid of what was coming. But I also began to thank him again and again for everything he gives us and that he is my provider. God created the world, why shouldn't he be able to do that as well.

He also showed me women who run projects with God, who also depend only on his donations like Reinhard Hirtler, Maria Prean or Gaby Wentland. The sentence of Maria Prean about the supply of her project was: This is God's business. That's how I hold it, that I say: It's God's business where the money for this project comes from, because it's His project.

Sometimes things happen that you don't expect, like a house for sale that I told God I could use for this project (that made me calm, even though it might not be the house). Or, that my last salary was higher than I thought due to the one-time payment that otherwise came at Christmas.

God gives me the peace and I keep saying it that God is my provider and that God provides for us. In some situations, when I worry that we could get money from somewhere else, God shows me again and again: Dorit, depend on me, because I am your provider. Sometimes it's easy for me to accept it, sometimes it takes me some time, but I know: God provides for us and he also makes sure that we get the money for the project.

Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the sustaining ground for what you hope for: in trusting, what you do not yet see is already showing itself now.

Joshua 1:5 God says: I am with you always; I will not let you fall nor forsake you.

What also helped me is the short story I am about to publish on my blog (The Unknown Light), which is about overcoming fear.

God always gives us encouragement through his word, he gives us the right word at the right time, because he knows what encourages and builds us up. But I also have to give him the opportunity to do this by reading God's Word. I experience it again and again that God shows me the verse that encourages me, that builds me up again and lets me go on.

I have some verses taped to the cabinets in my apartment. And it always amazes me that the exact verse that catches my eye is the one that I need then at that moment such as.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains. Where does help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121, 1 + 2

It helps me a lot and it reminds me again and again of God's promises and his faithfulness. And it helps me to set my heart on it. Because God is a God who sees us and loves us, despite everything we do he wants to give us his love and forgive us through Jesus Christ. Peace with you.

Some days I've wondered how to invite women to join me and who? Should I just go to town and hand out invitations? I do not know then whether it is good, which persons come then somehow I had a restlessness there in me and I thought: No, I don't want that. Not yet.

I then asked God: How should I invite women? How should I do that if I don't dare to give this invitation to strange women?

I got this and similar verses:

Therefore, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, but most of all to those who are united with us in faith. Galatians 6:10

Alright, I didn't know what God meant by that, but I realized after a while that that's what I'm supposed to do, support women from our church and other churches, and I like to do that. I always say, call me, anytime you need it. I'm here for you, I want to help you and pray with you and ask God for advice.

Some women do it, contact me when they need comfort or help or just want to talk, even if it's late at night, I like to listen and pray with you too if you need it.

God always shows me the way he has for me and it is a good way. He brings women into contact with me who need it, who find it good to talk about problems and worries or just to exchange ideas about what they are experiencing in the community, in the family or at work…. experience.

Today I have a request to you or I am currently looking for a way to make a small cafe on. I would like to offer cake and coffee, tea, cocoa and conversation. Who knows something please contact me. It does not have to be large and should not be in the middle of the city of Peine, but already in this area. I look forward to your feedback.

Unfortunately, nothing has come up so far because of a cafe. Well, God's ways are always different than you think. Let's see when I can do something like that.

Today I'm reporting on what's been going on.

As some of you may have seen on my website, I'm currently providing care for the elderly and household help and also sometimes looking after dogs, which isn't so easy because I have to leave them alone and sometimes it becomes a spectacle and my neighbors aren't happy about that.

I came to senior care through friends who needed temporary household help and we then looked into whether I could continue to do this as a senior caregiver, as this is also needed.

It wasn't so easy to deal with all the formalities, but so far I've managed it and can claim respite and temporary care from the care insurance fund.

I now also have a few clients and I'm earning money again.

I won't lose sight of the house, because God has shown it to me and I know that He will continue to do so and that we don't just help people by looking after the elderly... but also through what else God will give us.

In a letter I wrote to God in January 2024, I read that I had asked him to provide me with a job and that I didn't have to look and apply for it.

When I read it recently, I realized that I didn't have to look for a job, but that God gave me the job and showed it to me.

We have a good God who hears our prayers and also acts when we trust him. So we should trust him with all our heart and not with our mind, then we can recognize that he makes our paths straight.
